Kanji Café:
Ice Mocha

"Ice is a tool for learning Japanese" |
last update: March 23, 2006
|
"Kanji Café
- Ice allows you to build a word list for flashcard-like drilling, storing the words on three different lists for three differing levels of review emphasis.
- While studying these target words, you will have over 160,000 Japanese-English sentence pairs, complete with English glossary to practice reading the word with.
- If you have the so called "HTML 4 Compliant Browsers", Netscape 7.x, Opera, or Mozilla Firebird/Firefox, you can operate many of Ice's features with the keyboard.
- Ice writes your vocabulary words out both horizontally and vertically.
- This is so you don't freak out when you read a real Japanese newspaper and realize you memorized a bunch of horizontal words and are completely dumbfounded when you see the same words written vertically.
- Ice will give you the English meaning of each kanji in the word.
- Click on the radio buttion near these kanji and it will give you a list of words which use that kanji.
- Click on any of those words and it will become the word you are examining.
- You can also add any of those words to your high emphasis, or "a" study list.
- As you begin to memorize new words, you can move them to the "b" list so that you can bring more attention to the "a" list words that have you stupified. "
